Add a Vet Visit

Veterinarians are an important part of any rescue. They ensure that the animals are healthy, up to date on any vaccinations, and help whenever a health issue arises. Adding a vet visit for an animal is easy with BARRK!

There are two (2) methods to add a vet visit for an animal in your care:

METHOD 1

ANIMAL CATEGORY

  • From the Animal Category's main page Animals icon.gif, select the animal you wish to add a vet visit to by clicking the "Edit" icon Edit.png at the right-hand side of the animal's row.
  • Click "Vet Visits" above the animal's information screen, and click "Add Vet Visit.

  1. Enter in the visit information:
    1. Appointment Required check this if this is a reminder or notification to set up a visit.
    2. Visit Date from the popup calendar.
    3. Vet select from your vet list. (Note: If you have not created the preferred vet, please see TIP above.)
  2. Enter data for "Reason," "Treatment," "Cost," and "Notes."
  3. Click "Save."

METHOD 2

VET VISITS CATEGORY

  • From the Vet Visits Category main page Vetvisits icon.gif, click "Add Vet Visit."
  • Click the "Select" button on the right of the animal's row.

  • Follow steps 1 and 2 from above in Method 1.
  • Click "Save."




NOTIFY

NOTIFY is another great feature of BARRK!
This button allows you to send an email to the animal's caregiver to advise them of the appointment.

Notes icon.gifOnce the animal's visit is completed, go to the "Vet Visits" main page VET VISITS and click "Edit" Edit.png on the right of the animal's row. When the visit screen appears, click on the "Completed" box to have the visit checked off on the main screen. Add costs (if not entered above/or changed), and any notes that need to be recorded. Click "Save." .
